Many leaders are striving to be the best they can be in all aspects. Giving feedback is one area that many work to be more comfortable with. And, many leaders agonize at the thought of giving and perhaps even receiving feedback at work. There is a worry that we will be disliked, disrespected and ostracized if we give so-called ‘negative feedback” and that our teams won’t be able to continue on. There is no doubt that many of us find these conversations challenging, whether or not they are part of an annual review, impromptu or regularly scheduled 1-on-1 meetings.
